Stability of two interfering processors with load balancing

We examine the stability of two interfering pro essors with servi e rates depending on the number of users present of ea h of the lasses and subje t to stati or dynami load balan ing. Su h models arise in several ontexts, espe ially in wireless networks, or multipro essing. In ase of stati load balan ing, we extend existing stability results by deriving Lyapunov fun tions that are onne ted to the solutions of one dimensional Poisson equation. We then hara terize the optimal stati load balan ing. The Lyapunov fun tion found for the stati load balan ing is used to derive the exa t stability ondition of an interesting lass of dynami load balan ing poli ies. We show that for ertain properties of the state-dependent servi e rates, simple dynami load balan ing s hemes improve the stability ondition.
